One of the highlights of Delhiwood 2019 will be the live demonstrations by Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC), on all four days.
FFSC has recently conducted the national level competitions (India Skills 2019) for the skills trades of joinery and cabinet making, respectively. The winners of the India Skills 2019 competition are now preparing to represent India in the World Skills 2019 competition, which will be held at Kazan, Russia in August 2019.
The Competition, also known as the Olympics for Skills, is a platform where candidates from across the globe get to showcase their skills in different trades and compete at the international level.
During DelhiWood 2019, the two finalists from India will be invited to implement respective test projects in cabinet making and joinery. The test projects being prepared will be of the World Skills standards and the visitors will get a glimpse of how the international level competitions are conducted. FFSC will be taking the support of its industry and academic partners to arrange the skill demonstration.
To conduct these live skill demonstrations, a demo workshop with all the required machinery/power tools will be created at the exhibition venue for the two finalists.
FFSC will also invite delegates from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the World Skills team from NSDC to witness the event and increase advocacy. The support that is being extended by all the Industry partners, organizers, and government representatives will make the demonstration sessions a success and set an example towards promoting the importance of skill development among all stakeholders.
